Washing If you do not have a very dry scalp, you can wash your hair every day. Choose a shampoo that fits your hair type. Switch between two different shampoo brands every few months to avoid risking build-up on the hair caused by using the same product all the time.
If you have dandruff you can choose a special dandruff shampoo, but remember not to use it for too long at one time, since it can turn the hair into steel wool. Use the special shampoo only when you have an actual dandruff problem, and switch back to your normal shampoo as soon as the scalp has gotten better again.
After shampooing, you should use conditioner. Conditioner makes the hair softer, shinier and gives it more volume and vigour. Let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing to improve the effect. There is also conditioner that should not be rinsed out at all, which can be good if you have dry hair or normally blow dry your hair.
The best thing for your hair when you have washed it is to towel-dry it and then let it dry on its own.
