Calone

Calone (also known as Calone 1951 or watermelon ketone) is a synthetic fragrance molecule invented in 1966 that revolutionised the industry with its iconic, fresh scent of the sea, salt, ozone and watermelon. The note became extremely popular in the 1990s and laid the foundation for classic perfumes such as Davidoff Cool Water and Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey.

Calone evokes an intense sensation of a salty sea breeze, fresh air and marine notes combined with distinct hints of watermelon rind and cucumber.
