Electimuss London Trajan Noir

Trajan Noir from the British niche fragrance house Electimuss London is a citrus-aromatic, woody composition and a further evolution of the brand's popular Trajan. Inspired by the Roman emperor Trajan, under whose reign the Roman Empire reached its greatest territorial extent, perfumer Marco Genovese has created a richer, more concentrated interpretation of the original. Here, Trajan's characteristic interplay of fresh citrus, aromatic herbs and warm woods takes on a deeper, more powerful character.

The opening is intensely fresh and citrusy, with mandarin, lemon, bergamot and blood orange creating a vibrant combination of tartness, fruitiness and sun-ripened sweetness. Gradually, the bright citrus character gives way to an aromatic heart where lavender and sage bring herbal freshness, while saffron adds a warm, spicy nuance that takes the composition in a darker direction.

In the base, the dry, elegant woodiness of cedar meets the earthy, slightly bitter nuances of oakmoss, enveloped by ambergris, which adds warmth, depth and a subtly animalic character.
