Metal is an element or an alloy with metallic properties, such as high conductivity for electricity, ductility, and generally a high density and a metallic sheen. Examples of metals are aluminum, lead, gold, iron, copper, platinum, silver, tin and zinc. Metal has been important in human history and has countless uses.

In perfumes metal provides a cool, acrid fragrance.
