Fragrance Notes
Black Tar from QOT is a fragrance built on contrasts. Dark, smoky tar meets tart, almost candy-like notes of Korean strawberries in a combination that should hardly work on paper – yet somehow does with almost provocative ease. The result is expressive and charismatic, with a raw, tough energy balanced by a fruity twist – sophisticated, but never polished into submission.
The opening sets the tone immediately. The dark, smoky character of tar is joined by Korean strawberry, whose juicy tartness and playful sweetness cut straight through the blackened, sooty notes. Saffron adds a dry spiciness before rose introduces an elegant floral character to the heart. Cade intensifies the smoky impression with dry, charred woods, giving the composition even more edge and depth.
As the smoke begins to settle, amber, sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla emerge. Black Tar becomes softer and warmer here without losing its edge. The smooth woods of sandalwood and rich sweetness of vanilla round off the tar, while amber binds the darkness and fruit together in a warm, sensual base.
Black Tar makes no attempt to be easily defined. It moves between asphalt and strawberry candy, smoke and sweetness, rawness and elegance – and seems perfectly at home somewhere in between. This is a fragrance for someone who wears their personality without apologising for it. Bold, confident and full of attitude. Black Tar isn't a fragrance for blending in. It's for those who have already decided not to.
