4 SCENTS YOU CAN SENSE FROM A DISTANCE
Gents focuses
There are perfumes that are discreet and perfect for wearing in the office, at work or in other sensitive environments where strong scents are not appropriate. And then there are those that follow you around the room and stay with you longer than you do, signalling "here I am" scents with what the industry calls "sillage". Let's look at a few such examples.

It's difficult to say exactly what it is that makes some perfumes reach further out into the room than others - the results can also vary from person to person, and the temperature of the place can also have an impact. However, it is generally said that a fragrance's ability to 'sillage' - to leave a long-lasting trail in the room when worn - can often be attributed to certain notes such as vanilla, amber (amber), berry/fruit and patchouli, especially those produced synthetically. These can then, depending on the concentration and in combination with other notes, be made to explode into a scent trail that will hopefully - in the right context - earn you compliments from people several metres away. Aldehydes, molecules (such as ISO 3 Super and the floral hedione) and alcohol are also reinforcing and act as binders. Here are some examples of perfumes that can be enjoyed from a distance.
amouage - interlude man
A recurring DNA of Amouage's perfumes is the note of incense, and when it is combined with amber (amber) as it is here - and in harmony with leather, sandalwood and oud - the result is not only expressive and a "beast mode" attack on the skin - it also casts a scent net over the environment that makes a recommendation not to overdose appropriate. If you want to make people wonder who was in the room fifteen minutes ago, this oriental yet elegant creation is an obvious choice.
Xerjoff - alexandria II
This elegantly spicy scent from Xerjoff is not an animalic composition even though it is oud-based, but it has floral notes of lily of the valley and Bulgarian rose and sandalwood that, along with the oud, are embraced by supporting notes of amber, musk and vanilla - elements that alone tend to guarantee a long sillage. Wear this one if you want to leave an exotic and elegant calling card - but without being provocative or over the top. It's all about class combined with long scent trails that follow you like protective armour.
roja - enigma pour homme parfum
With Nasomatto's Baraonda, we talked about the ability of sweet boozy scents to stick to the skin and energise the environment. We find the same trait in luxury perfumer Roja Dove's Enigma, but here in the form of a flamboyant, sensual and sophisticated treasure that makes people exclaim that coveted "who smells this good?". With powerful catalysts such as brandy, benzoin and vanilla combined with sandalwood, spices and tobacco, the result is an exclusive and extremely complex version of Coca Cola that makes everyone look your way. And it doesn't get much more luxurious than that.
byredo - pulp
We continue the "gourmand" theme, but now with praline and a truly sillage-promoting rich compote of rich fruit and berries - because when berry notes are overdosed as in Pulp from Swedish Byredo, no one is safe from metres away. It's like falling into a jam jar. Ripe figs and creamy blackcurrants together with cooling apple and a sweet liqueur note make this an interesting choice for the man or woman who wants to stand out and brighten the atmosphere on a lovely spring and summer day.
