Rebecca's Sun Protection Guide

Skincare therapist Rebecca answers questions on how to best take care of your skin as the sun starts to appear.

Increased temperatures and the sun is emerging - what should we consider?

I want to emphasize how important it is to start using SPF now, before the warmer part of spring arrives. You can also use a moisturiser with SPF built in; the important thing is to protect the skin in one way or another.

I also want to add that it's good to use SPF 30 or higher on sunny days, like 30 or 50. Anything lower than that is actually too low protection, but SPF 15, for example, can be perfect for cloudy days.

Should sunscreen be applied before or after facial cream?

Apply a facial sunscreen after your facial cream. It's important that it's the last thing you apply as it doesn't provide as good protection if, for example, you apply a day cream on top of it.

Do you have any more tips?

Protecting the skin from the sun is also a great anti-aging tip, as the skin can 'age' faster if exposed to the sun for extended periods without sunscreen. And in addition to this, not forgetting the significant difference it makes for the skin when you cleanse and moisturise it daily. Hydration, hydration, hydration!
