Gent's barber Simon has listed his five favourite Benjamin Barber products and explained how best to use them. 

AFTER SHAVE BALM BLACK OAK

Definitely one of my biggest favourites! Fantastic properties and with a very luxurious scent of Black Oak, a sensual blend of tobacco, oak and leather that is supported by darker notes of sandalwood and cedar. With its moisturising properties from, among other things, shea butter, it helps the skin to repair itself after shaving while also balancing sebum production. 

 Alumblock

An alum block is a must-have for all shavers - a real lifesaver! The alum block stops bleeding that can occur when shaving in just a few seconds. If you don't have one and don't want to walk around with pieces of paper on your face, it's high time you got one. 

Body lotion

A nice body lotion that comes in three fantastic scents, I actually have a hard time choosing a favourite of them. Perfect moisturising after the shower that makes the skin soft but does not feel sticky but sinks quickly into the skin. Tip is of course to match body wash with your body lotion. 

beard oil

Benjamin Barber has several beard oils with good scents, but my absolute favourite is the beard oil with the scent Oud, with its warm scent it is perfect for the chilly days.
Apply the oil to the beard after showering as it is beneficial for the hidden skin underneath. When it comes to longer beards, I would recommend combining the beard oil with a beard balm. The reason is that the oil works more easily into the beard down to the skin while the balm is more ‘on the outside’ and can act as a lighter styling product.
