Among other things, poetry, art and music are several of Gérard's sources of inspiration. Fragrance is the human mind that best evokes memories and inner images and the philosophy behind Histoires de Parfum is that those stories are best conveyed through the skin.

Gérald has made it an art to break most of the mainstream rules that exist in the perfume industry and it is to some extent the experimental creative joy and limitlessness that he tries to express in each perfume. Creativity and the unwritten rule that all raw materials must be of the highest quality are some of the few rules that Gérard accepts to adhere to, but they are all the more important. The colorful presentations are an important component of Histoires de Parfym's attention to detail, with decorative bottles in hand-blown glass and cases clearly inspired by books placed on the bookshelf with their spines facing out.

With Histoires de Parfums, Gérald Ghislain has created a library full of volumes that, through fragrance, give life to famous personalities and moments in history and take us on an inspiring and symbolic journey through both time and space. Each fragrance collection has its own theme and narrative point of departure.
