Calendula

Calendula or marigold is an annual plant that is grown mostly for its beautiful yellow or yellow-orange flowers, which in addition to decorative purposes, also used in skin creams, ointments and natural medicine and in cooking, as a decorative element in salads, for example.

In natural medicine calendula is used in preparations to which is said to cure headaches and menstrual pain and other visceral pain. The juice from the flower has an astringent and inflammatory effect which facilitates wound healing. Is also good for dry and cracked skin.

In perfumes calendula has a faint but characteristic scent.
