Perfect kit for those who want to learn the art of wet shaving. In the beginning it can be difficult to choose between so many different razors, shaving brushes, shaving soaps and not least razor blades. To make it easier, we have created a kit consisting of just these fundamental parts needed to get started.

This kit features Sailor's 98R, a classic safety razor, comparable with Merkur 38c. Heavy with large lines on the handle to give a firm grip, even during the most slippery shavings. It also has a weight that allows the razor to do the job and glide smoothly over the skin which also reduces friction and the risk of cuts.

The razor blades from Sailor's come in 5-packs and are made of Swedish stainless steel. The blade is perceived by the experienced shaver as quite gentle but at the same time effective, the blade is thus not too aggressive and thus more forgiving than some sharper blades like Feather's sharp double razor blades. This makes the blades ideal for the beginner, however the choice of blade depends on other things such as thickness of beard and other personal preferences. You simply have to try it out, but this is a good start.

The Gents shaving brush is a good shaving brush with a resin handle and synthetic brush. Again, this brush is specifically designed for the beginner who wants to try it out. Most people start with one of a similar nature and just synthetic bristles and then move on to a more advanced and slightly more expensive shaving brush in real badger hair of some kind. Again, it's all about preference and something that comes with time.

The fourth and final component is a refreshing and gentle shaving soap from the seasoned and esteemed Proraso. The shaving soap comes in a handy cup where you whisk it up and create a rich lather.
