Forbidden Plum is a fruity oriental gourmand fragrance with hints of tuberose and oud, part of the new Oud Extrait Collection from French niche perfume house Fragrance du Bois. The fragrance was launched in August 2026 exclusively for Harrods, but following its initial sell-out, it was released on the global market. The composition was created by perfumer Dalia Izem.
The perfume opens with rich, voluptuous notes of plum that immediately reveal an almost decadent sweetness, accompanied by a dark, subtle hint of clove. This fruity sweetness runs like a thread through every stage of the fragrance, joined in the heart by delicate touches of Indian tuberose, whipped cream and a boozy rum accord that adds further depth and warmth.
In the base, Australian sandalwood and Indonesian patchouli come together, enveloped in a dark oud accord. Yet this is an oud that, true to Fragrance du Bois' signature DNA, is neither overpowering nor dominant, but instead acts as a unifying element within the composition. The sweetness of plum lingers right through the drydown, leaving a soft, creamy and almost velvety impression on the skin.
Forbidden Plum is for those with a weakness for fruity gourmand fragrances with generous sweetness and a darker, sensual undertone. It is a perfume that is happy to make its presence felt, particularly on evenings and during the cooler seasons, when its rich character truly comes into its own. A fragrance for those who do not necessarily seek the discreet or understated, but appreciate that little touch of indulgence that sometimes makes life so much more pleasurable.
