This is a so-called Open Comb razor who is best suited for coarse beards. This razor is easier to use the Merkur 41C and is therefore recommended for those who want to start using an Open Comb razor.
This is the same type of razor as 15c, but with a longer handle.
To this razor, use double razor blades from Merkur, Solingen, Derby or Feather. A double blade lasts up to three times as long as regular razorblade with 3-blade systems.
One Merkur Super Platinum razor blade is included with the razor.

Straight razor feel, you feel the blade better than with a closed comb. However, it doesn't shave as closely, it's gentle because the blade rests closely over the comb. I might end up using it on my neck where I otherwise get irritated, and an old Gillette on my cheeks.

I like the length of the handle, it fits my large hands perfectly. This type of razor is considered "aggressive" but I would rather call it "effective" in that case. Very hard to cut yourself with it.
