The perfumer behind Nasomatto, Italian Alessandro Gualtieri (“The Nose”), has with Baraonda – which loosely translates to “chaos” – created his own interpretation of a boozy gourmand fragrance with notes of flat whisky and vanilla sweetness. It brings to mind a forgotten glass of whisky or rum left on the table after a long night. It may sound unusual and challenging, yet Baraonda has become one of the brand’s most loved fragrances and something of a bestseller. Despite its alcoholic character, it settles unexpectedly soft and balanced on the skin in the drydown, with a warm and beautiful vanilla note.

As always, Alessandro does not disclose the notes, but it has been confirmed that it contains his favorite ingredient oud – although Baraonda is not a typical oud fragrance. We also detect whisky, creamy vanilla and possibly hints of musk and candied fruit. Naturally, ambroxan is present as well, giving the fragrance a powerful performance. Perfect for those who love gourmand fragrances with a twist – and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
