3 steps to a better skin
- under ten minutes per day
Are you a novice when it comes to skin care? And do you have trouble knowing how to start? No problem, Gents has the answers to your questions. Here is a 3-step crash course in basic skin care for everyone who would like to be better informed.

Step 1 - Cleansing
Thorough cleansing is the foundation for ALL skin care. This step will give the most effect to your skin, and should be performed morning and evening. Begin by wetting the face with lukewarm water. Put a small amount of Face Wash in your hand, about as large as a hazelnut. Rub your hands against each other, and then apply the gel to the face. Massage using calm, gentle movements until a light lather is built up. Rinse the face with lukewarm water. If you are not going to shave, you can dry your face now. Otherwise let the moisture remain for a smoother shave.
Step 2 - Shaving
Every good shave starts with moist skin. This is because lukewarm water softens the beard hairs, and if you have used a good cleanser in step one, your beard hairs will be softened. Soft beard hairs are easier to shave than hard ones.
Apply RAW Shave Gel or American Crew Precision Shave Gel. These work in the same way as shaving cream, but are also nourishing and retain moisture longer in the beard hairs. Let the gel or cream sit for a few minutes before starting to shave.
Rinse with lukewarm water. Dry by pressing the towel against the face. Do not rub the towel against the face, since your newly shaved skin is extra sensitive just after shaving. Apply an aftershave, such as Benjamin Barber Aftershave Balm with nourishing and softening properties, that soothes the skin after shaving.
Step 3 - Moisturizing
In this step you moisturize your skin with with a moisturizer that suits your skin type. Remember to moisturize your skin morning and evening after cleansing.
"Follow this by inspection and admiration for your well-groomed and attractive appearance, followed by practice of tough facial expressions and gestures in front of the mirror. After this, you give yourself a big smile and the procedure is finished." (To cite Per Holmberg, competition winner June 2004).
