you’re dosing incorrectly
One spray? Five sprays? Spraying the air and walking through it? Yes — figuring out the right amount of perfume can be tricky.
How much to use depends mainly on two things:
1. Whether you wear an EdT, EdC or Parfum (i.e. concentration of aromatic compounds). Read more here.
2. Personal preference.
We recommend experimenting and gradually increasing the amount.
you’re skipping the shower (hoping no one notices)
We’ve all been there. The kids need to get to school. You already have 27 unread emails and three missed calls from the office. Mornings are stressful, and skipping a shower in favour of perfume may feel tempting — but it rarely ends well. You may end up smelling of too much perfume, with sweat peeking through anyway.
If you're short on time, we suggest using something like Maxim Wipes instead. Maxim Wipes contain a patented formula with 15% aluminium chloride that effectively stops even heavy sweating for up to 24 hours.
you’re choosing the wrong scent for the wrong occasion
If you’re visiting family, the heaviest Barnyard fragrance with animalic notes might not be ideal. And if you’re entering an important negotiation, a perfume that screams freshness and lightness may not send the right message either. Choose the right scent for the right moment. Need help? you’re wearing the same old scent every day
A signature scent can be charming, but just as we change hairstyle or clothing, switching fragrances can also be refreshing. By rotating your perfumes, you can express different moods. And who knows — maybe you’ll even try layering?
you’re applying in the wrong places
We’ve all made the mistake of applying perfume in strange places — in the hair, under the arms, even down there. Instead, apply perfume where the skin is warmest: behind the ears, on the neck and on the wrists. Pulse points emit warmth that helps the fragrance develop and project properly.
