2024 marks our 20th anniversary and two decades of tireless dedication to inspiring men to live better lives. Since our founding in 2004, we have been a trusted source of quality, style and in-depth expertise.

This milestone has given us a moment to reflect and an opportunity to look back on Gents’ journey so far. Looking back at the years that have passed and how the world has changed, it is remarkable what we have actually experienced and “survived” over these 20 years.

The same year Gents was founded, Google went public and another giant, Facebook, was born. The iPhone, which together with Facebook reshaped the way we communicate, arrived three years later, and it is hard to imagine a time before smartphones, when people carried devices with colorless screens.

We have witnessed many historic moments and events. We have navigated global financial crises, the COVID-19 pandemic, and adapted to new forms of commerce shaped by AI and international agreements, not least the Paris Agreement and Brexit.

From Bush to Biden, we have also lived through four different U.S. presidencies, each bringing new concerns around economy, conflict and global stability.

Alongside all this, the world of fashion has undergone constant shifts, with icons such as David Beckham, Pharrell Williams and Brad Pitt leading the way in both style and grooming. 2004 was, in fact, the year Beckham transitioned from a loose ponytail to a sharp buzz cut – a change that made headlines worldwide.

However, our journey has not progressed without hard work, skill and significant effort. While there may be a few drops of humility, there is an even greater measure of pride in the strategic decisions we have made over the years – from critical turning points to intense time pressure and difficult choices.
