#1
floris special no. 127 edt
It doesn’t get more classic gentleman than this. One of the oldest and most legendary fragrances still in circulation from the English house Floris. Launched as early as 1890, but perhaps most famous for being worn by Winston Churchill in the 1930s. A refined English gentlemen’s club in a bottle.
Floris eau de toilettes from the classic range are not known for explosive projection, but instead for their heritage and refinement. It may be a challenge for those under 30 unless you appreciate carving out your own style, but otherwise it is an obvious winner for anyone drawn to the old-school barbershop feel with British finesse. Bergamot and neroli lead into lavender, florals, musk and patchouli.
#2
creed green irish tweed edp
This success story from Creed is an elegant creation dating back to 1985. One of its greatest strengths is its versatility across all age groups despite its aura of classic refinement. Green Irish Tweed is truly timeless. It has also been a favourite among celebrities such as Richard Gere and Robert Redford.
Often compared to Davidoff Cool Water, it is not strictly a marine scent but rather a sporty, herbal and green composition with a refined subtlety. It works equally well for a round of golf as for an evening dinner. Instantly recognisable through its blend of vetiver, citrus, cedarwood and basil. One of Creed’s true bestsellers and a flagship alongside Aventus.
#3
acqua di parma colonia edc
When speaking of heritage and celebrity appeal, it is impossible to overlook Acqua di Parma’s Italian milestone Colonia. This is timelessness in its purest form. What else can be said about a cologne that has remained just as popular since its launch in 1916?
A citrus-based unisex fragrance that conveys Italian freshness and elegance. Its slightly powdery character has made it equally beloved by women. A favourite among Hollywood legends such as Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn and David Niven – and still just as relevant today. A true safe choice among classic fragrances.
#4
floris no 89 edt
What makes Floris fragrances so unique is their storytelling. We saw it in Special No. 127, and No. 89 from 1950 is no exception. Worn and appreciated by Ian Fleming, who also chose it as one of the defining elements of James Bond’s character. In other words – this is James Bond’s fragrance.
A classic 1950s composition with a slightly powdery sweetness and a hint of soap. It features a refined blend of citrus and lavender in the top, florals in the heart, and a dry woody base of cedar, musk, oakmoss and vetiver. All that’s missing is the tuxedo and a martini.
