Apple is one of the world's most widely grown fruit and has been cultivated for several thousand years in Europe and Asia. Today, China is by far the largest on-farm and in 2005 contributed 35% of the world market, the U.S has second place with their 7.5%.

Apples have been a religious symbol and to the Norse mythology, the apple was associated with eternal youth, in Greek mythology, the apple was a mysterious fruit. The scents can vary depending on whether it is the smell of green apples or red apples you want. The aroma of green apples is fresher and sharper than the sweet, light red.
