Blackcurrant

Blackcurrants grow on a medium sized shrub with lobed leaves. The bush is very aromatic since the leaves and the flowers have the same distinctive aroma as the berries. It is native to northern Europe and northern Asia and should not be confused with redcurrants. 

The berries that are packed with vitamin C and the smell is perceived as fruity with a slight, almost musk-like background.
