Iris butter

Iris butter, also known as orris butter, is a luxurious and highly appreciated fragrance note with a rich, powdery and slightly earthy scent profile that carries subtle floral and woody undertones. Iris butter is extracted from the rhizomes of the iris plant, particularly Iris pallida, Iris germanica or Iris florentina, which originate from regions such as Italy and Morocco. The production of iris butter is a long and intricate process; the rhizomes are harvested, dried and aged for three to five years to develop their characteristic flavour. In modern perfumery, iris butter is highly prized for its ability to add a luxurious, powdery depth that enhances the complexity of a fragrance and makes it feel timeless and elegant.
