Remeber that you might have to change up your tehnique if switching from a razor with a multi- blade system to a safety razor. With a safety razor you have to pull your skin tight and use minimal pressure.

How do i shave with a razor?

It is important to always prepare your skin before shaving. Use a pre-shave and shaving foam, shaving cream or a shaving soap.
Pro tip. Start with shaving your face and then your neck.

When shaving with a safety razor do the following:

Don't push the razor against the skin. Use a light hand and pull your skin tight with the other hand.
Hold the razor in a 30 degree angle
Let the razor slide by its own weight without putting any pressure when you steer it over your skin.
Apply shaving foam to the neck. Keep in mind that the skin on the neck is very thin, so the risk of getting a cut is higer.
Repeate the procedure and apply more shaving foam if needed. You can shave against the hair growth once or twice.
Finish off with a aftershave balm or aftershave gel, to moisturize and calm the skin.

How do i clean my razor?

Clean your razor when you are switiching blades. Rinse it under lukewarm water and soap.

How often do i need to change razor?

A multi-system blade, like Gillette needs changing quite often compared to a safety razor. When using a safety razor you can use the same blade between 6-10 times, depending on how thick your beard growth is.

What do i do if i get bumps after shaving?

Bumbs after shaving doesn't necessarily mean that you have sensitive skin. Look over your routine and the products you are using. Here is four tips on how ingrown hairs, redness and irritation can be prevented.

Always use an after shavebalm or gel containing a light acid.
Peel/ scrub the area one day after shaving. This will stimulate and soften the skin and also remove dead skin cells. The softer the skin, the easier it is for the hair to find its way through the outer layers of the skin.
You can avoid ingrown hairs altogehter by using a safety razor.
Use good products that softens the hairs and has anti inflammatory properties.
