Summer is here, and now it's time to get ready for holidays, balmy evenings on the patio and happy garden parties. But put the grill aside for a while because there are other flavours than BBQ oil and marinating. Let's take a look at some perfumes that deserve to be highlighted for the summer season.

bdk parfums - citrus riviera
In our spring perfume recommendation, we highlighted the fresh, slightly floral Villa Neroli from French BDK's blue "Azur" range, inspired by the Amalfi Coast. Now it's time to bring out the most central scent in the collection, Citrus Riviera, a fresh, powerful citrus story that has become a firm favourite with its freshness and sunny character. A marine citrus scent on steroids, with Cap'd Antibes and its turquoise waters providing the inspiration. Neroli, Italian tangerine and lemon provide the top notes, flanked by eucalyptus, Corsican everlasting flower absolute, strawberry molecular essence and Haitian vetiver, among others.
venti4 profumo - verde
Italian Venti4 Profumo's niche is perfumes tailored to your skin in four different areas of the body, so that each scent note can reach its full potential - a unique concept based on the fact that where and how you apply a perfume and its build-up of notes has an impact on how the scent develops. The green one in the series - logically called Verde - primarily designed to fit on the torso, arms and wrists (the red Rosso, for example, is said to be made to be applied to the legs). Here we are talking about a fresh, cooling parmpit with green elements, perfect for a dawn walk along the beach or in a shady garden. Or why not at work? Marina notes, ylang ylang, sea salt, ambroxan and sandalwood make up the main notes.
xerjoff - erba gold
The bright yellow Erba Gold is a summery follow-up to Italian Xerjoff's big hit Erba Pura, known for its blue bottle. Here, they've toned down the original's slightly synthetic smoky note and instead allowed fruit and sweetness in the form of Amalfi lemon, Brazilian orange, vanilla, bergamot and pear to take centre stage, making it perfect for the summer season and a no-brainer for those who like Erba Pura's slightly different DNA. In the background are ginger, white musk, net melon, cardamom and creamy amber.
the house of oud - keep glazed
If you're struggling to find a suitable perfume for Midsummer, you have an equally unexpected and brilliant choice in Keep Glazed from The House of Oud, the brand with the beautiful, decorative and unique bottles (the so-called "eggs"). Keep Glazed is a creamy, exciting gourmand that is perfect for the garden party with its hints of strawberries and liquid cream. Swedish summer at its best - here bottled, and unusually fresh and airy for a creamy gourmand. Mango, strawberry leaves and fruity notes combined with cream, coconut, white musk and wood.
ROJA PARFUMS - burlington 1819
Roja Dove is hard to beat when he's at his absolute best, and few perfumes from this British icon's output personify that statement better than the elegant Burlington 1819, named after the Roja store's address in Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly - a fruity, summery citrus with grapefruit and creamy rum in a perfect symbiosis made for hotel holidays. Rolex, glamour and a dressed-up summer holiday all in one package. On the right skin, it unfolds into a potent masterpiece, with the fresh grapefruit giving way to the creaminess of the rum, with gentle hints of tobacco, mint and ecossy. Worth every penny and unbeatable in its sense of luxury if your skin is able to do it justice.
